Search function quit working

Used to work perfect a couple years ago when I first purchase. I recommended to many people. After doing an upgrade about a year back. The search no longer looked up simple things like cream cheese??? I tried hand typing everything... Tried syncing which also nonfunctional. Used to be five stars now only one... It is a useless app since research database only contain some random foods
